Appearance

The BMW K1300s has something unique with its appearance and it might be the one of the reasons of its popularity. Overall looking is bigger and heavier. Most of the design work with innovative changes can be seen at the front face. The hood of the BMW K1300s has unique style and design. The front fender comes in body colour with sharp nose. The front mask houses larger new design headlamps. The most interesting part of the front face is its rear view mirrors. The rear view mirrors are mounted at mask and come coupled with LED turn indicators same as in cars. The rear view mirrors are not in body colour. The hood has all new design transparent wind shield. Overall, the front is full faired in body colour. The front fairing's lower end comes in grey colour plastic. On the other hand, the fuel tank comes in body colour along with anti-scratch pad on it. The seat are wider and long. It is also blessed with handle shape two-piece grab bars. Unlike the front turn indicators, the rear turn indicators are in usual fitting. However, the tail lamp cluster is having same look as a car's tail light. Rear side panels are added with bike name stickring. Apart from body colour fuel tank, rear side panels, front mud-guard and mask, rest of the body parts in black and grey. Whereas the footpegs are in silver finish. The BMW K1300s is packed with a funky dashboard like an aeroplane. There are two round dial and a rectangular console. It shows information like speed, fuel consumed, tripmeter, tachomter, clock, low battery, pass light etc. The dashboard is a combination of digital and analogue meters. The silencer of the machine is bold and in mid-ship style.

Engine

The heart of the machine is given with latest technologies and new features. BMW's engines do not need any declaration and introduction. However, the company reported to launch its best selling bike BMW K1300s with a four stroke, liquid cooled, in-line four cylinder with 4 valves per cylinder. The engine capacity is 1293cc. This power house of the bike incorporates 6 manual gearbox. The mill of the bike is smart enough to pump out 175 hp of top power at 9,250 rpm and 140 Nm of peak torque at 8,250 rpm.

Acceleration

As we mentioned under earlier sub-headings that the bike comes equipped with a 4 stroke in-line four cylinder, 4 valves per cylinder, liquid cooled with a displacement of 1293cc. This massive powertrain is supposed to belt out 175 hp of top power at 9,250 rpm and generates 140 Nm of peak torque at 8,250 rpm. The powertrain is comprised of 6 speed manual gearbox. The clutch type is multi-disc oil bath with 151 mm. The top sped of the machine is 200 km/h. Coupled with latest engine technologies the bike produces awesome power and acceleration figures.

Fuel Efficiency

BMW K1300s is powered by a Transverse, liquid cooled inline 4 cylinder with a 1293cc engine. This powerpacked engine is capable of generating a peak power of 175 hp at 9,250 rpm and 140 Nm of maximum torque at 8,250 rpm. Here would like to tell you that these kind of bikes are not for fuel economy conscious guys but for those who appreciate power and style more. Fuel economy on Indian roads would be less than 10 kmpl. The fuel tank capacity of the bike is 0f 19 litres and a reserve of 3.5 litres.

Colours

At present the BMW K1300s is available in three vibrant shades in overseas market. These stunning colours are lava orange metallic, light grey metallic and black which comes in light and dark shade. The body colour is used nicely on front fender, hood, petrol tank and rear side panels. On the rest of the body black is dominating with light grey colour. These sporty colours would be seen on India bound BMW bikes as per news reports. Available colours Are :

Brakes

In addition to these, the BMW K1300s will be equipped with dual disc brake of 320mm dia at front and single disc of dia 265mm at rear. The braking system would be comprised of ABS system. This is the most advanced braking system and ensure excellent handling and control.

Suspension

BMW is known for providing its bikes with advanced parts and features. The same is kept in mind and fitted with latest BMWs suspensions. The front suspension in BMW K1300s would be BMW Motorrad Duolever,central spring strut while the rear one might be cast aluminum single sided swingarm with BMW Motorrad Paralever, centre spring strut with lever system,spring preload adjustable at hydraulic handwheel, rebound dumping adjustable. The wheel travel of the suspensions would be 115mm and 135mm respectively.

Wheels and Tyres

As per the powerplant, the wheels and tyres are also in big size to provide support the mean machine. The bike is fitted with 17 inch cast aluminum wheels. The front tyre size is 120/70 ZR 17 while the rear tyre comes with 190/55 ZR 17 type. The rear tyre has got splendid size.

As far as handling and control of the yet-to-be launched BMW K1300s is concerned, the bike is added with superb engine, transmission, brakes and suspensions.
