In order to provide the new avatar of Karizma a stunning look, it seem the engineers of the company worked hard. At the first look, the full front fairing will surely attract you. And why not, the fairing comes in body colour and has dashing graphics. ZMR logo is bold and catch the eye. This new version possesses big mask that houses new headlamp and rear view mirrors mounted on the front fairing. Yes, this is copied from Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTS-i and Yamaha R15. However, the rear view mirror are having the black shade. A large black tinted arrow shaped wind screen is fitted on the top of the hood. Turn indicators are placed at the fairing.
The instrument panel sports digital display. This comes in a very new shape. Speedometer, tachometer, tripmeter and other indicators look amazing on the console. The powertrain develops a maximum power of 17.6 bhp at 7000 rpm and a maximum torque of 18.35 Nm at 6000 rpm. The power figure is .6 bhp more while torque is very much same. The programmable fuel injection technology helps to increase power and higher peak speed. This time the machine is blessed with oil cooled technology. Karizma also sports a maintenance free battery that ensure better starting in bad weather. The programmable fuel injection technology system is incorporated with 16 bit ECU, a 12 hole fuel injector and 6 high-tech sensors to scan the engine operating parameters like air pressure, air temperature, and engine temperature to ensure the optimum air / fuel ratio under dynamic conditions. The bike has self and kick start option that is useful when the battery turns down.
The company claims a top speed of 126kmph. But this is not enough to give stiff competition to Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTS-i which has a top speed of 144 kmph. On the other hand power and torque figures are also remained low as against the Bajaj Pulsar 220. Karizma ZMR can achiever 0-60 kmph in just 3.70 seconds.
For enhanced fuel economy, the Karizma ZMR is equipped with the Programmable fuel injection technology. The carburator version of Karizma gives 40 kmpl in city and around 46 kmpl on highways. The fuel tank capacity of the machine is 16 litres while it has 2.5 litres of reserve. The bike is claimed to give around 35 kmpl of mileage in city.
The new sports bike comes in five attractive colours. The colours are moon yellow, pearl white, vibrant blue, panther black and sports red. The body colour is present at front fairing, side panels, airscoops and front mudguard. Rear view mirrors and grab rails are not in body colour.
