Appearance
The Honda Aviator Disc has completely new looks with some new features make the Aviator stand apart from the competition. The scooter is more youth friendly and both gender would appear stylish when riding it. Honda Aviator Disc is coupled with sleek design and high performance that is to sure attract the youth. The sparking plastic that is used is of good-quality and the metal panels are used in a much better way. However, there is no digital display at all. You would find analogue fuel gauge and speedometer. The scooter is equipped with low fuel indicator, low oil indicator and low battery indicator which make the drive more safe. Like other Honda scooters, Aviator has the same 102cc engine. Other features which is to look first is large multi-reflector halogen headlamp, clear lens indicator and attractive instrument panel. The New Aviators Disc body design is a combination of Metal and high impact resistant ABS parts so as to reduce the overall weight of the vehicles for better mileage. Honda Patented puncture resistant tuff up tube minimizes the incidents of sudden punctures by 70%.
The scooter scores over other scooters as it has more storage space under the seat than the previous scooters. The Aviator Disc has rather large wheels, as compared to other scooters and wheelbase is 1256mm. The triangular blinkers are positioned vertically on the two horizontal ends of the front. The part of the scooter under the rider’s hips has a shape that appears to have been diagonally scooped. The upper part of the crease formed by the shape starts from the end of the footboard and runs across the rear of the scooter right till the end of the rear blinkers.
Engine
The Honda Aviator Disc is having a few extra stuff like alloy wheels and disc brakes as options and bigger wheels. Another thing which is unique to the scooter is its suspension.
The new twin front suspension has also enhanced the ride quality significantly and better control characteristics. The Aviator Disc shows great composure while taking high speed bends on roads. Honda has equipped the Aviator scooter with some first-in-class features such as lightweight 12-inch alloy wheels and 190mm front disc brakes.
The overall height, length and width of Honda Aviator are 1162mm, 1802mm, 707mm respectively. It has a wheel base of 1256mm and kerb weight is 102kgs. It has a ground clearance of 145mm. The scooter comes with air-cooled, 4-stroke OHC engine with displacement of 102cc. This proven engine ensures smooth and silky performance. The engine has a support for single cylinder and the electrical specification of Aviator is 12 volts. The stylish scooter develops 7bhp of peak power at 7000 rpm and generates a torque of 0.8kgm@5500rpm. The Aviator is started by kick and self start. The Aviator incorporated of a high quality telescopic front suspension & rear unit swing suspension setup that achieves smoother handling, lower vibration and more stable high-speed control.
This refined, tried and tested mill behaves in pretty much similar fashion in terms of noise, pick-up and fuel efficiency. The larger front wheel and improved suspension make for a smoother ride. The Honda Aviator Disc feels a little heavier than the other two existing scooterettes. The variomatic transmission from the other two scooterettes has been carried forward into the new Aviator. Though the chassis of the Aviator is almost similar to the one found on the Activa i.e. high rigidiry under-bone type. The scooter sports a peculiar wheel configuration with different wheel sizes at front and rear. The rear wheel size is 10-inch and front wheel is of 12-inch. The change in the front wheel size has come in order to accommodate the disc brake as a 10-inch wheel would have been too small to house a capable rotor.
