Test drive 350

Hi yesterday only i had a testride of bullet EFI 350 at the showroom, guys you wont belive it, that was true power, as compared to previous bullet 350, the look & feel was awsome and the thump was just out of this world.. i wonder what it's going to be once i change the silencer..with the new trumphet one which comes with extra 1900 bucks, also this new machine is going to give a better average as compared the conventional cast iron engine, and requires less mantenance... only once per 6000 Kms, this machine is simply amazing, the only problem is to wait for the delivery..
thanx

Lookwise tyres seems smaller in classic 500cc

i feel personally that the tyres in Classic 500cc are smaller then electra and here electra looks better bcaz of tyres taller/

bassically i am going to buy a new bullet model firstly i was liking TBTS bcaz of looks but then it does not have thump and my bro loves electra so much that he said i will not ure use TBTS if u buy this so i had to look at other models like Classic he likes classic to becaz it has thump nice thumb and if i modify the silencer and muffler then the thump is on par,

still i want some decent advise that i should go for Electra 4s or Classic ????

good things in Classic 500 ( that i like )
- self start, - Powerfull, smooth handling,

good thing i elctra ( i like )
- looks tall and specially te crome one with blade allow wheels looks sparkling.

RE: Lookwise tyres seems smaller in classic 500cc

I own a bullet Std 350. Technically if I speak about the Bullet Classic. Its comes with a UCE(unit construction Engine), that means that everything is inside the engine unlike previous bullets. I have spoken to a mech. repairing only Bullets from last 40+ years about the new model of the Bullet ( classic), he says that just the replace the Clutch plates we need to open the whole engine and will have to replace the Seal for the same. that would cost 2500/- INR excluding the price of Clutch Plates and also the Aluminum used as engine case is not so strong as compared to previous versions of the Bullets, that will free the Screws if the engine is opened 4 - 5 times.
What I personally feel is that, if there is a problem in the clutch plates, or gear box, we can simply open that specific part and take care of it, but in Classic (new) Models with UCE, this is not the case.
I would personally suggest you , if you want to purchase a bullet, go for an Old Bullet Std. like 90's Model and get it Re-done (that's what I have done and I am really very Happy with it). It will be lot more cheap and reliable and u'll have everything for what a Bullet is known for. But if you are seriously thinking for a new bike option, then go for Electra 4s with Disc Brakes ( I have added Disc brakes on my Std.)... Disc brakes adds a lot of beauty to the bike.. Go for Red or Black Color. (I have given a Electra Look with Black color)..

Taken Test Drive; Opinion

I've ridden almost all models of two wheelers in under 200cc including RE 350cc. Last week I've taken the Test Drive of Classic 500cc and and is really admiring in its look and performance. Its smooth and fantastic.
Since all its look was intended to give a classic look, the digital dashboard will not fit for it. I would suggest a rear disc instead of the drum. Once you used with the rear disc, a better braking you own.

Opinion

Had a short ride on both. The 500 efi was rougher than the 350 carb. There was a perceivable difference between the two in terms of feel . Additional power of the 500 certainly was appreciated and for long range riding would probably be a better bet.
350 was smooth and enjoyable to ride.
EFI cannot be retro fitted to 350. I preferred the 500 front tyre.
Difficult choice . 5oo deliciously tempting but 350 probably smarter choice.

UCE looks and sounds and feels good. Tappets still make a racket on 500.
500 feels overall less refined (it was a test bike though) 350 felt more refined but slightly more sluggish .

I worry about EFI units servicability too .

No cons

I absolutely disagree that a digital dashboard would be better. This is a classic bike a dig dash would look UGLY on it. Though they could've incorporated a an analog tachometer and trip meter. The only problem people are going to face is that the EFI system would be serviceable only at RoyalEnfield service centres unlike the other enfields which can be very well taken care of by some specialist mechanics outside the authorized service centres. This EFI unit will be connected to a computer and will have lots of data logged on it. So service and repair bills are expected to be substantially higher. I think the classic-350-UCE with a carburettor would be a better choice.
