Phirnee is a Kashmiri dessert recipe like a milk based sweet pudding generally containing ground rice paste. Milk is thickened and rice paste is cooked along with it to obtain a thick custard sweet. Various fruits and nuts are added as flavoring during the process. This is simple version of phirni using rice flour and chopped stawberries.Various fruits and nuts can be used as a main flavoring substance. Similarly, Badam Phirni , Kathal Phirni, Peach Phirnee, Kesar Pista Phirnee, Mango Phirnee, etc. can also be made. Instead of sugar you may also use honey.
