Dosa is basically a crepe made from rice and black lentils. It is a typical South Indian dish, eaten for breakfast or dinner, and is rich in carbohydrates and protein.
Ingredients for Dosa Recipe:
- 2 Cups rice uncooked.
- 1 Cup urad dal.
- 1 Onion finely Chopped
- Fresh green chilles.
- 3 tsp Yeast.
- 1 tsp Sugar.
- 2 tsp Salt.
- 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds.
Method to prepare Dosa Recipe:
- Soak rice and dal in the water in different bowls. Grind the urad dal and rice in a blender seperately. Add rice to the dal batter. Mix it well.
- Add yeast over warm water and leave it to get soft.
- Mix sugar and salt in the batter and stir them properly. Cover and keep aside for 1 hour, undisturbed.
- Take a pan and heat oil. Fry mustard seeds, chopped onions and green chillies till onions turn brown.
- Add little amount of coconut milk and mix in the batter.
- Pour a spoonful of batter in the centre, spread with the back of the spoon to a thin round.
- Pour a tsp of ghee or oil over it. Remove with spatula when crisp. Serve hot with chutney.
