Dosa is basically a crepe made from rice and black lentils. It is a typical South Indian dish, eaten for breakfast or dinner, and is rich in carbohydrates and protein.


Ingredients for Dosa Recipe:

  • 2 Cups rice uncooked.
  • 1 Cup urad dal.
  • 1 Onion finely Chopped
  • Fresh green chilles.
  • 3 tsp Yeast.

  • 1 tsp Sugar.
  • 2 tsp Salt.
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds.
Method to prepare Dosa Recipe:

  • Soak rice and dal in the water in different bowls. Grind the urad dal and rice in a blender seperately. Add rice to the dal batter. Mix it well.
  • Add yeast over warm water and leave it to get soft.
  • Mix sugar and salt in the batter and stir them properly. Cover and keep aside for 1 hour, undisturbed.
  • Take a pan and heat oil. Fry mustard seeds, chopped onions and green chillies till onions turn brown.
  • Add little amount of coconut milk and mix in the batter.
  • Pour a spoonful of batter in the centre, spread with the back of the spoon to a thin round.
  • Pour a tsp of ghee or oil over it. Remove with spatula when crisp. Serve hot with chutney.
