The LG EGO WI-FI is a simple touch-screen handset with Wi-Fi capability. This is its most important aspect as evident from its name. It has a 2.8 inches wide 256 K TFT touch screen with virtual QWERTY keypad. The screen of the phone offers excellent resolution and ease of using. This White colored touch-screen phone is comfortable to hold as it physically measures 106 X 58 X 12 mm. This is sleek and lightweight and just weighs 86 grams. Interestingly, it is a JAVA enabled phone with social networking integration. It has been announced and also released in June of 2011, but Indians have to wait for its launch.
The LG EGO WI-FI has a FM radio and integrated music player that support MP3/AAC+ audio formats. There are loudspeakers in the phone and the headsets of this handset also serve as an antenna for its radio. The phone also has a voice recorder. It supports alert types in the form of vibration, polyphonic and MP3 ringtones.
The LG EGO WI-FI is equipped with a rear-based 2-megapixel camera that clicks still images at 1600 X 1200 pixels resolution. This camera can also shoot videos and the video player integrated in this handset can play MP4 and H 2.63 video formats.
The internal memory space of LG EGO WI-FI is not extraordinary large and just stands at 50 MB. However, it can be further expanded to 4 GB by using a microSD compatible memory card. Moreover, LG EGO WI-FI also let its users save enough entries and fields, photo-calls and can keep call record details for maximum 30 days.
The buyers of LG EGO WI-FI should feel rest assured as far as its battery is concerned. It offers standby time of 300 hours.
The phone also facilitates entertainment via music and games. Its users may listen to continuous music on its FM radio or music player. They can play games, both pre-installed and those which are downloaded.
It need not to be mentioned that LG EGO WI-FI is a Wi-FI enabled phone as this is evident right from its name. It’s worthy to mention that the phone has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g. Besides an excellent inclusion in the form of WLAN Wi-FI technology, it also has the great additions as in Bluetooth v2.1 and micro USB v2.0 cabled connection along with it and together these makes it easy for user to connect to a nearby hotspot connection or establish connection with PC or laptop. For browsing, Internet surfing and exploration WAP 2.0 /HTML browser has been placed in the phone. Browsing occurs at blazing speeds via it and the phone runs all Google services like Google, Gmail, voice and maps etc. LG EGO WI-FI also has GPRS/EDGE connection and its 3G speeds are taken care of by HSDPA connection.
The LG EGO WI-FI supports some excellent messaging features in form of SMS, MMS and EMS. Its users will miss exchanging mails and using Instant Messaging and chats on this phone. This phone is basically a messaging phone packed in stylish package but not a typical smartphone that can actually serve your professional needs. However, Wi-Fi integration seems to have been given to attract flamboyant users who love to flaunt their phones.
LG EGO WI-FI operates on both 2 G and 3 G networks. On the former, it uses operating frequencies of 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and on the latter 850/1900/2100 MHz frequencies are used.
On LG EGO WI-FI, one may easily download many interesting games or play the pre-installed ones also.
This phone is simply marvellous for its nice inclusions and the best part is the data connectivity features of this phone. Central to this idea is presence of integrated super speedy Wi-Fi and 3 G HSDPA network speeds. Despite of not facilitating email exchange, LG EGO WI-FI would still keep its users connected via its offered messaging services that include SMS, MMS and Enhanced Messaging Services (EMS). Also, the phone is JAVA enabled and has social networking services integrated inside it.
Its internal memory space is meager but it is easily expandable to 4 GB upper limit. This opens avenues for greater data saving as in music, videos etc. besides accommodating phonebook contacts and call records inside the phone. The battery life of the phone is enough and its standby time of 300 hours seems really likeable.
The first pleasing thing about LG EGO WI-FI is its stylish and trendy look. In fact, this phone has been designed keeping in mind the need of young buyers who wish to possess a stylish handset which is technologically good too. It has a nice 2.8 inches wide TFT touch panel with beauty of a virtual QWERTY keypad. A 2 mega pixels camera has been placed in the phone for still photography and video shooting.
The 2.0 mega pixels camera of LG EGO WI-FI is a poor inclusion. Though it can shoot videos but for video shooting and still photography, this camera lacks even basic features as flash and autofocus. The image gallery can be scrolled with ease as user-interface of this touch-screen phone is quite good but that does not please as the clicked images are not excellent in resolution and color balance. LG EGO WI-FI is like the Corby range phones of Samsung and offers nothing uniquely novel before its buyers.
LG EGO WI-FI has become available for sale as soon as it was announced, not in India. The touch-screen phone with virtual QWERTY keypad has launched in June 2011. It is a simple touch-bar phone with manageable size and weight. It is sleek, stylish and handy. Above that, it has Wi-Fi feature and capability that makes it stand out from other similar type of phones. It does not mean that other data connectivity features have been ignored. In fact, LG EGO WI-FI has all the varied data connectivity features integrated inside it such as Bluetooth and microUSB, etc. It even has a nice WAP 2.0/HTML browser for comfortable Internet browsing. It is a nice and stylish phone, one that can be flaunted with elan and ease.
