Resistive 2.4 inches TFT touch screen along with basic standard keypad makes the navigation easier. Users would have choice to navigate through touchpad or keypad, which is really quite unique feature of Philips D612. Visibility of icon is good as the icons are comparatively large. Keypad is made on basic standards and easy to manage and handle.
With a handy design, light weight along with good battery back up of talk time and stand by time, it is expected that the phone would be good it terms of performance. Since it doesn’t support any heavy feature it is quite natural that the processing speed would be fast as compared to a fully loaded phone with same hardware and software.
Philips D612 is good for the users who do not indulge themselves in web browsing or other social networking web sites, which requires heavy java enabled applications to run on mobile. Simple calling and messaging features and relatively fast processing speed makes it quite competitive amongst its competitors in the market. Light weight and handy design of the phone makes it easy to carry.
QWERTY keypad is not available. Phone doesn’t support GPRS, EDGE, Infra-red and WLAN. Price would be a constraint; if in any case price does not match with the provided features, it can even make users unsatisfied.
As a whole, Philips D612 is a good phone for basic normal users with no major need of web surf or social networking. All basic features are available with the phone and it is enough for the users who just need a phone for simple calls and messages.
