Samsung Series 9 Ultrabook Finally Arrives in India
Only days after showcasing the second generation Series 9 Ultrabook running on the realease preview of Windows 8 at the IFA 2012, Samsung finally launched the ultrabook in India. Though it was first announced in January at CES 2012 and was globally launched in February, the hadn't yet made it to the Indian shores. However, the model launched in India is an updated version and runs on Ivy Bridge processors and Windows 7. This very stylish laptop has received a lot of attention for its flawless areodynamic aluminium unibody design. The laptop is not only ultraslim (read 12.9mm thick), but is also lightweight with its measured weight of 1.16kgs. It sports an anti-reflective 13.3 inch LED display that offers a resolution of 1600X900 and is powered by a 1.9GHz Intel Core i7-3517U processor.
Along with this, it also features 4GB of DDR3 RAM, 256GB SSD storage, Intel HD Graphics 400, and a 1.3-megapixel camera. For now, this Series 9 Ultrabook will run on Windows 7, but will be upgradable to Windows 8 upon its October 26 launch. Talking about the ports, this one offers a plethora of them, including a DC power unit, VGA-out, micro HDMI, USB 2.0, USB 3.0, and also a memory card reader. It also has an 80 key backlit keyboard and a multi-touch trackpad.
In referrence to the device's connectivity provisions, it has a dual-channel Wi-Fi and Gigabit ethernet. The list of pre-installed softwares includes Easy Support Center, MS Office Starter 2010, Cyberlink YouCam, and WildTangent game console among others. And Samsung has put a price tag of Rs 1, 03, 000 on this exquisite device.
