But that isn't the only launch that was eagerly awaited, everybody had been looking forward to the update in Apple's homegrown OS too. And the Cupertino-based company didn't torture their fans much with the curiosity, and launched iOS 6 along with Apple iPhone 5. Claimed to be the world's most advanced operating system, it will be seen powering iPhone 5 right out of the box. But others need not be disappointed since Apple will make the new OS available as a free upgrade for Apple iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, the new iPad and also iPad 2 from September 19. When iOS 6 was first unveiled during the Apple Worldwide Developer Conference in June, the tech giant had announced the beginning of a Google-free era for Apple users since they had decided to ditch Google maps for their own mapping provision.

But that wasn't the only Google feature that Apple gave up. They have also removed Google's pre-installed YouTube app, which will now need to be downloaded from their App Store. IOS 6 will feature a comprehensive list of new features including turn-by-turn navigation with the new Flyover view, upgraded Siri that will now support more languages and also provide easy access to sports scores, restaurant recommendations and also reservations. Other than that, the new OS will also pack an enhaced Safari, Facebook integration for Contacts and Calendar, ability to post directly from the Notification Center and support for FaceTime over 3G. However, not all the upgraded features of the new OS will be available in India.
