News of the Week- in Summary
The last week of September was an action packed for us at CarDekho, where in India most automakers started offering the festive season packages on their popular cars, 2012 Paris Motor Show kick-started with the bang and CarDekho team covered all the exclusive stories. There have been some big launches this week like Nissan Evalia, Toyota Innova Aero, Volkswagen Touareg SUV, Skoda Rapid Active and Ambition Plus Variants and Hyundai Santro, i10 and Accent in CNG variants.
We also revealed the launch dates and plans of some upcoming cars like Maruti Alto 800, Tata Safari Storme, Chevrolet Spark Facelift, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and S-Class Sport Editions and some more future cars. One more major happening has been the nomination of Tata Indica Vista for 2013 European Car of the year, where it will be competing with some globally cars.
Nissan Evalia Launch at Rs. 8.49 lakh
The utility vehicle segment seems to be on all time high in India, the year 2012 inspected some big launches like Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Renault Duster, Mahindra Quanto and now we have the much awaited MPV, Nissan Evalia in India at Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India)

Toyota Innova 'Aero' Limited Edition Launched
To lure more customers during the festive season, Toyota India launched the limited edition of their popular MPV Innova called as 'Aero' in both 7 and 8-seater options at a price of Rs 12,25,677 and 12,30,207 (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. Only 1200 exclusive units of the Toyota Innova Aero will be sold in India till Dec 2012.
Volkswagen Touareg Launched at Rs. 58.5 lakh
While everyone was speculating the launch of next generation Volkswagen Toureg SUV in India, they have silently launched the vehicle at a price of Rs 58.5 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The earlier version of the Volkswagen SUV was available at Rs 51.58 lakh.
Skoda Rapid Active and Ambition Plus Variants Launched, New Prices and Features
Skoda Auto India has finally launched the Plus packages of its popular Sedan Rapid's Active and Ambition vairants (diesel and petrol both) at an increased price, however the price difference is not so very big. This would certainly help Skoda India attract more buyers during the festive season.
Hyundai India Launches CNG Santro, i10 and Accent
Battling with the constantly rising fuel prices in India, the Second largest automaker of India, Hyundai India has launched the CNG variants of its popular cars Santro Xing, i10 and the Accent. Paying an additional sum of Rs 56,000, buyers can get the CNG kit fitted in their cars, in fact the old buyers too can avail the benefit of the scheme.
Tata Safari Storme Coming in on 17th October
Tata Safari Storme is no doubt one of the most awaited vehicle of the year, the car was speculated to launch many times, but all were proved wrong. Now the guessing-time has finally come to an end, as Tata Motors dealers have started taking pre-orders of the vehicle as the car is finally launching on 17th October, which means during Navaratras.
Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 Launch on 16th October
The most awaited vehicle of the year 2012, Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 is finally launching on 16th October, which according to the MSI would be able to come out as the next 'People's Car' of India. The car has already reached to dealerships and the pre-booking has opened.
Chevrolet Spark Facelift to Launch on 15th October
General Motors is all set to launch the facelifted Chevrolet Spark in India on 15th October. The car has been called to have taken its inspiration from Chevrolet e-Spark concept, which was revealed at the 2010 Indian auto expo, held in Delhi. The cars has got some good changes inside and out helping it become more aggressive than before.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class and S-Class Sport Editions to Launch in October
After launching the B-Class Sports tourer in India, the German auto giant Mercedes-Benz's Indian arm is planning to launch the special editions of its popular sedans E and S-Class named E-Class Sport and S-Class Sport in the coming festive season, that means sometime in October. However no details have been revealed by the automaker yet, but the special editions are likely to come up with an AMG Sports package.

Nissan India to Launch 10 New Models by 2016, Datsun Brand in 2014
After launching the much awaited MPV, Nissan Evalia in India at a starting price of Rs 8.49 lakh in India, now the Nissan is working on next 10 new models that are expected to come by 2016, including their low-cast car brand, Datsun, which will come in 2014.
Tata Indica Vista Nominated for 2013 European Car of the Year

Honda Brio, Jazz and City in for a Price Hike
Honda cars India has announced to increase the prices of its all popular models including the Brio, Jazz and City. The vehicles will see a hike of 0.2%-2.6% on their existing price, and the new prices will be effective from October 1st 2012.
SUV Audi Q3 to See a Price Hike
The uneven economic conditions of India has compelled most automakers to increase prices of their cars, we recently saw Toyota and Honda increased their prices, Maruti Suzuki India too have announced to give a price hike across all its line-up. Now the latest news coming is that the Audi India is planning to hike the prices of its popular compact SUV Audi Q3.
