TVS Motors

NEW DELHI: TVS Motors, third largest two-wheeler company, is expected to launch a new bike in India by the end of the year.

The bike would be the first clutchless motorcycle in India. It means that one should not use the clutch while shifting gears. This launch will be a boon for women riders too as they can drive this clutchless bike like gearless scooters. It is to be mentioned here that gearless scooters are very popular in men and women in India.

For instance Honda Activa, Mahindra Duro and Mahindra Rodeo are most sought after gearless scooters in India. According to some website reports the clutchless bike is expected to be christened TVS Star Sport CL 115cc. Apart from 115cc mill, the bike would have self start and alloy wheels with fuel tank like Yamaha FZ. As the bike is an entry-level motorcycle, TVS is believed to price it lower and mileage figures would be more. Nevertheless, there is no official confirmation so far.

On the other hand, Yamaha has this kind of touring bike in overseas market. The bike is FJR1300 AS. Honda is also learnt to use the same setting in its new VFR1200F that is expected to be introduced in 2010. TVS is also gearing upto launch a gearless scooter very soon in India. Meanwhile, Royal Enfield is expected to roll out Royal Enfield Bullet Classic 500cc in India. So let's wait for the upcoming bikes in India!
